PREPARATION BEFORE APPLICATION
2.Inspect
the site to determine your method of application.
Adequate drains must exist or dry-vacs, repeated
clear water rinsing must be performed to clean and extract all the acid residue. If
the area can be hosed to drains, brushed and hosed again, the time frame will be moderate,
otherwise allow two hours for each 1000 square feet. Hose faucets should be located
and adequate hose should be provided to rinse entire area.
3. Equipment.
A list of items should be made. The
application operation will require knee-high rubber boots. At least two medium
bristle 18 inch combination scrub and push brooms. Two 20 inch floor squeegees and a
hose adequate to cover entire area treated. In areas where adequate ventilation
cannot be attained, a NIOSH approved respirator should be worn designed to filter out
inorganic acid gases. Additional equipment may include a grout hog machine to
extract residue in grout or a floor buffing machine with a red pad to apply N-7
neutralizer where a slightly temporary chalky residue is undesirable. Wet/vac, mop
and bucket where necessary.
4. Personnel.
At least three people should be used to apply
product. One will pour product while brushers briskly spread and brush entire area,
following applicator. Applicator will then begin hose rinse, where application was
first started, using a high pressure nozzle. Flood with water but do not hose area
until brushers are completely finished. When brushers are finished they should begin
brushing again behind hose person until water is clear. Brushers and hose person
then squeegee water residue down drains, out doors or to wet/vac mop.
